P.G.D.A.V. College was established in 1957 to address the challenges of higher education in the newly burgeoning nation. One of the oldest colleges of the University of Delhi, P.G.D.A.V. is an integral part of the rich heritage of the Dayanand Anglo Vedic movement—a pioneering social reform movement since the 19th century. The great saint and the founder of Arya Samaj Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati's vision for modern global education within the Indian milieu is an inspiring gospel for our mission at P.G.D.A.V.
In 'Satyarth Prakash', Maharshi propounds that Shiksha (education) helps one acquire knowledge, culture, righteousness, self-control and virtues, and also eradicates ignorance and evil habits. Scientific temperament, rationality, universal education, and women's education constituted the core principles of Arya Samaj. P.G.D.A.V. College offers a combination of Shiksha and Samskara—modern education rooted in Indian values for nation-building and the welfare of society.
The College is proud of its highly qualified teaching and supporting staff. We offer thirteen exciting undergraduate and four postgraduate courses across twelve disciplines. There are both the Honours and Programme degrees at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Our resolve towards inclusive education and a better society has grown stronger since the pandemic; we engage more creatively with our students through online and offline pedagogical resources.
